One of the toughest Par 3s in the region. The terrain slopes steadily to the right, making a shaped draw off the tee the ideal flight. Keep a sharp eye out for out-of-bounds lining the hole.

Brechin Golf Club was established in 1893, initially playing over a modest 9-hole layout at Trinity Muir.

A pivotal moment in the club's development occurred around 1924, when an agreement was reached to purchase Limefield Farm to expand the course.

  • The James Braid Influence (1926): Legendary golf course architect James Braid was invited to inspect the new grounds at Limefield. Impressed by the land, Braid laid out recommendations for strategic bunkering and hole designs. His work laid the foundation for the middle section of the course (specifically holes 10 through 17).

  • Centenary Expansion (1993): In 1989, the club acquired an additional 42 acres of farmland. This allowed for a major redesign by John Farrell, expanding Brechin from a 9-hole layout to a full 18-hole, par-72 parkland course in time for its centenary in 1993.

  • The "Limefield" Heritage: Today, the historic agricultural connection to Limefield remains a permanent fixture of the club's identity—most notably as the namesake for Hole 13 ("Limefield"), a challenging 215-yard Par 3.
